Like many other castles in the world the Lichtenstein Castle was build on the Ruin of the castle left behind at that spot. The Castle is situated on the top of mountains called Swabian Alb Mountain range, and due it its uniqueness it seems to belong from a fairy tale.
The construction period of the castle was from 1840 and 1842 and it was built in a design for the safety of the dukes of Urach. The lower end of the castle is bulit on rocks and upon it the remaining part was built. The castle still belongs to the dukes of Urach but it is open for the travelers and visitors. You can also enjoy the weapon room in this castle.. The castle is keenly visited by alot of visitors from all over the world every year which enhances the beauty of the castle more and more .
